PAEDIATRIC ONCOLOGY

The Paediatric Oncology Department provides comprehensive cancer care to children up to 18 years of age.

The Department adopts a multi-modality approach with the help of Radiation oncologists, Hematologists and Surgical oncologists. It also has a full-fledged radiology wing equipped to do imaging of children including image guided procedures.

The Department offers treatments for:
  • Both haematological and solid tumour malignancies
  • Blood cancers (ALL, AML, CML)
  • Lymphomas (Hodgkins and NHL)
  • Solid tumours (Neuroblastoma, Wilms tumour, Brain tumours, Hepatoblastoma, RMS etc)
  • Non-malignant conditions like chronic ITP, aplastic anaemia and MDS.
Outpatient Facilities:
  • Dedicated paediatric outpatient unit with play area
  • Dedicated day care unit for paediatric chemotherapy (Outpatient chemotherapies, minor procedures like bone marrow aspiration, intrathecal chemotherapy, day care transfusions and other short infusions like IV immunoglobulin are given at the facility)

  • Private rooms
  • Dedicated bone marrow transplant unit
  • Playrooms
  • Dedicated paediatric intensive care unit (level III) with fully trained paediatric intensivist and supporting staff
